How to frame answers in clear interview English
Summarise your background
Use a now–past–next structure: “I currently…”, “Before that…”, and “I’m now looking for…” to keep your introduction concise.
Connect your motivation to the role
Move beyond “I like this company.” Try: “I’m particularly interested in this role because…” and add one specific reason.
Introduce a concrete example
Signal evidence clearly: “A good example of that was when…” Then use active verbs to explain what you personally did.
Explain a result precisely
Close the example with “As a result…” and name the improvement, number, lesson, or feedback that made the outcome useful.
Describe a weakness constructively
Use “I’m currently improving…” and explain the action you take. This sounds more credible than disguising a strength as a weakness.
Ask for clarification calmly
If a question is unclear, say: “Could you clarify what you mean by…?” A short clarification is better than answering the wrong question.
